Chalk Paint - Just Plain Fun!

We have hit the ground running since our return from North Carolina. We took a trip out there for advanced training with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. What a wonderful experience, and we had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and talented people! We didn't get much sleep, but we learned a lot and had a blast, we will be sharing more about our trip soon.

Since our return, we have been painting like mad getting ready for our store opening next week. Check out this little beauty we just finished.
Just love the transformation that can be accomplished in just a couple of hours.
We painted the table edge and legs with Country Grey, making sure to accent the beautiful carved details with Dark Wax. Wanted to add a little interest to the table, so we did a clouded stipple using Provence, Olive, and Country Grey.

We absolutely agree with Annie, her paint is just plain fun!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Linky Party!

We have been working day and night on our new store in Historic Downtown Monument, Colorado. We will have our doors officially open for business on October 4th! We have been busy painting and stocking the shelves and all the fun stuff that goes into opening a retail location. We will be sharing pictures soon. If you are in the area, please stop by and check out our working studio and store. Now, onto our weekly Chalk Paint party
Love the ingenious idea of taking a generic sofa table and turning it into a fabulous rustic vintage twist. Craft Monkey used old pallets for the slats and completed the look with Old White.
Also featuring Shizzle Design. Shelly likes to paint with a little bit of this and a little bit of that until it is just right. She definitely found the right combination for this dresser using

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Introducing our newest Chalk Paint Kit

We have been busy playing with all the new colors, they are simply gorgeous! I think French Linen might be the new favorite, but then again CoCo is a really great color too! And the Pure White is just that, clean and crisp and pure! We will be sharing photos very soon with the new colors.

Here is our latest little find, please excuse the messy reflection in the before photos.
Wonderful mirror, great detail work, just a little out of date in color.
After with Paris Grey and Clear and Dark waxes.
The Dark Wax is wonderful at accenting all the nooks and crannies.
Also added a stipple texture to the outside to really make it rustic.
It is so fun and easy to revive old and tired furniture with just a little paint!
Take a look at the before again....
And the after....
Don't forget, there is still a little bit of time left to link up to our weekly Chalk Paint party. Due to our technology delays, it has been extended through this evening.

Chalk Paint Link Party

Seasons are already changing here in Colorado! We have seen quite a few trees lately with the leaves changing colors. It is so beautiful to see, but it doesn't quite seem possible just yet. Fall always sneaks up quickly here, but it such a beautiful time too. We are enjoying the cool nights with our crisp mountain air.

Well, it's onto the weekly linky party, here are the two pieces we selected to feature:

Divine Theatre did a fantastic job on this Armoire. Andie shares her inspiration photos and then how she recreated the look using Paris Grey along with Clear Wax and Dark Wax. What a stunning transformation completed in an afternoon!
You have to check out the before on this from A Brush of Whimsy. Kim took a hideous piece (her words, actually her husband's) and created this fabulous little beachy cabinet using Provence and Old White. Kim proves you really can go from hideous to beautiful with
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Out with the gold, in with the new

STAY TUNED....
We have EXCITING news to announce on Monday

Until then,
Remember this?
Loved the shape and design of the frame, just wanted all the beautiful detailing to pop.

Let us re-introduce you to this:
We definitely wanted a little gold showing through in spots. Using sandpaper was just a little too rough and took off some of the gold finish underneath. So, this time we distressed before waxing by wiping back the paint with a damp terry cloth towel.
Painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emile with accents in Country Grey.
It took a quite a bit of time to hand paint all the detailed areas, but we think it was definitely worth the extra effort. What do you think?

Chalk Paint Linky Party and a Winner

We hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. We relaxed and enjoyed spending the weekend with our children and having fun in our own backyard, beautiful Colorado! We even managed to get Brad up on top of Pike's Peak for the very first time! Can you believe it, he has lived here almost all his life and never been up the mountain!?!
The view from the top is simply breathtaking!
No wonder it was the inspiration for "America the Beautiful"
What an awesome turnout for our Link Party last week! Thank you so much for linking up.
We LOVED seeing all the beautiful creations with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!

Molly from Molly Susan Strong took a typical '80's style sofa table and turned it into an elegant French Country table with beautiful hand painted accents and designs.
Molly used Country Grey, Old White, and a custom mix of blue.

Next, take a look at this beauty below.....what else can we say except absolutely gorgeous!
The very talented Michele at Stiltskin Studios has worked her magic using
